The Ministry of Education Team, led by Kate Hixson oversaw the development of the Education Finance Information System (EFIS) application. This team was awarded the Diamond award under the "Business Solutions through Information Technology category" for the Showcase Ontario 2003 award program
Procase Consulting was awarded the contract to develop EFIS, followed by subsequent enhancements and support contracts. The EFIS application was deliberately designed in a generic manner to allow non-technical resources to make ongoing changes such as calculations, validation rules and user interface look and feel, without resorting to programmers. This unique design and a well executed development and implementation plan resulted in this tremendous award for the Ministry. |
